Support the London Ambulance Charity
Who we are
The London Ambulance Service Charitable Fund (the Charity) is the official registered NHS charity raising voluntary income to support one of the busiest ambulance services in the UK, if not the world; the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust. The Charity raises vital funds to add value to London Ambulance Service, providing enhancements and initiatives which are beyond what’s capable solely with statutory government funding.
Our vision
Saving more lives in London – Caring for the people and patients of the London Ambulance Service.
Our priorities
We advance the services provided by London Ambulance Service through programmes such as the following:
- Support staff and volunteer’s physical and mental wellbeing
- Promote innovation, transformation and efficient new ways of working
- Help staff deliver front line patient care more effectively
- Projects that enhance patient care
- Donations to the London Ambulance Charity have been used to fund things like Wellbeing Support Vehicles, outdoor gardens and rest areas at ambulance stations, and a staff hardship fund
Current fundraising campaigns
- Outrun an ambulance campaign – we’re challenging competitors to conquer the mileage an Ambulance covers in one shift.

Gifts in memory
Remembering a loved one by celebrating the life they lived can be a comfort. Many people choose to commemorate their loved one by fundraising or making a donation in their memory. By improving care for future generations, your loved one’s legacy lives on.
There are different ways to do this:
Funeral Collections
You may want to encourage people to make a donation in lieu of flowers at the funeral. Many funeral directors are familiar with this type of giving, so please let them know you would like to support London Ambulance Charity in this way.
Email us to get in touch so we can support you.
Set up an Online Tribute Page
You can fundraise online in memory of a loved one by setting up a personalised giving page. An online tribute to your loved one is a lovely way to leave a lasting memory with a photograph and a few special words. Friends and family can leave donations in lieu of flowers and messages of remembrance. This is a safe and secure way to donate and it enables your friends and family to see donations at a glance. If desired, please write the name of the hospital, department, ward or fund that you are raising funds for on your page.
Online pages can be set up through:
• Memory Giving
• JustGivingOrganise your own fundraising activity
If you wanted to organise an event or fundraising activity to remember your loved one then do get in touch and we can support you through this. We would love to hear from you 07385 347446 or [email protected].

Leave a Gift in Your Will
Leaving a gift to London Ambulance Charity in your will is a generous way to make a lifelong donation to an emergency service you care about. Of course, ensuring your loved ones are cared for comes first, but leaving a charitable gift in your Will supports staff and volunteer wellbeing, and advances care for patients across the capital for generations to come.
We rely entirely upon the compassion of people like you, who think of how your children, neighbours, nieces, nephews and friends will be cared for in the years to come. Your generosity enhances healthcare for the 9 million people who live in, work in, or visit London every year.
If you are interested in making a gift to charity in your Will, please do let us know. We can provide some helpful information and provide draft wording which may be useful to your solicitor. We would also like to have the opportunity to thank you personally for your generosity.
For more information and suggested wording about legacy donations, we recommend you download our Gift in Wills leaflet.
We can be contacted on 07385 347446 or [email protected].

Play the lottery
Play the lottery and support our London Ambulance crews as they care for the capital
The country’s busiest ambulance service is offering Londoners the opportunity to win some money while helping support its staff working on the front line.
Our ambulance service crews respond to more than 2,000 incidents in the capital each day and the pace of a shift often leaves little time for a break.
The London Ambulance Charity has joined Make a Smile Lottery to help raise funds to pay for refreshments for crews out on the road, initiatives which boost the wellbeing of staff and volunteers and also grants that support staff in unforeseen hardship.
With a draw every Friday you could win up to £1,000 while also helping to support our heroes in green.
LAS Head of Charity Development Jess Burgess said:
“This is a wonderful way to support a worthwhile cause as well as potentially win some money to treat yourself.
“Just £2 buys a hot drink for a paramedic or volunteer, while £8 could provide a yoga class for someone to help alleviate the pressures of the job.
“By playing each week, you could be helping us to save lives by supporting those responding to the sick and injured patients in London.”
The Make a Smile draw usually takes place on Friday and it only costs £1 per play. Find more information about how to play and sign up visit www.makeasmilelottery.org.uk
