Initiating and delivering clinical research

As part of our commitment to improve clinical research and increase the number of patients who participate in research, we produce quarterly reports of our performance against two benchmarks, set by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR); our performance in initiating clinical research, and our performance in delivering it.

These targets are designed to encourage quicker initiation of clinical trials and faster recruitment of the target number of participants within the time frame agreed with the Sponsor.

Performance in initiating clinical research

Here are the details of all the clinical trials we issued approval for between 1 October 2021 to 30 September 2022:

Performance in delivering clinical research

This benchmark requires us to report on whether we are recruiting the target number of patients to clinical trials within the time frame agreed with the Sponsor. This applies to commercially sponsored trials only.

In Q2 (April 2022-March 2023) we did not participate in any commercially sponsored trials.
