Who we are
The capital’s ambulance service
We work closely with hospitals and other healthcare professionals, as well as with the other emergency services. We are also central to the emergency response to major and terrorist threats in the capital.
Our purpose and values
Our purpose is that we are here to care for people in London: saving lives; providing care; and making sure they get the help they need.
The ambulance service that we provide today has come a long way since its earliest days in the late 19th century. Read our story.
We are governed by a trust board of 18 members which meets every two months.
Find out more about our trust board, including dates and papers for meetings.
We have more than 5,000 staff, based at ambulance stations and support offices across London. Find out more about how we are structured.
