Emergency services thanked as new statistics reveal extent of abuse

Emergency services heroes will receive a ‘thank you’ for the vital job they do as figures released today reveal the scale of physical and verbal abuse they face in the line of duty.

On Friday (20 September) teams from London Ambulance Service, the Metropolitan Police Service and London Fire Brigade will mark the first ever ‘Awesome Movement Day’ celebration which calls on the public to show appreciation for their work

Wife of Australian Prime Minister meets Australian paramedics working at London Ambulance Service

Jennifer Morrison was welcomed to the Service’s headquarters in Waterloo by Chief Executive Garrett Emmerson and met Australian paramedics working in London.

She was also shown around the Emergency Operations Centre, where emergency calls are answered, ambulances and other vehicles dispatched and where patients are given medical advice and support by clinicians over the phone.

We join the Duke of Cambridge at launch of Safer Thames campaign

HRH The Duke of Cambridge was today joined at an event on the River Thames in central London by members of our Service, to launch a new campaign around safety on the tidal River Thames and made a call for the public’s help in reducing injuries and deaths on the river.

London Ambulance Service, The Port of London Authority, The Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade, Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), and Maritime & Coastguard Agency have come together to produce a Drowning Prevention Strategy for the tidal Thames along its 95-mile course, from Teddington to the North Sea.

Crewmates reach 28 year milestone

DURING 28 years as crewmates two ambulance staff have saved dozens of lives, delivered more than 40 babies and survived several animal attacks.

Steve Redburn from Sidcup and Tony West from Croydon joined London Ambulance Service in 1986 and 1987 respectively before becoming crewmates in 1990.
