A message from the Chief Executive – 12 May

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our colleague and friend Samantha Donoghue, who passed away suddenly in her sleep on Monday night (10 May). Sam smiling in a picture in a living room

Samantha – always known as Sam to those who knew her – joined London Ambulance Service in 2008, starting as a station administrator at St John’s Wood.

Sam, 42, later worked as an administrator at Brent ambulance station and most recently at Westminster.

She also spent six months working at our headquarters in Waterloo, supporting the strategic leadership team. She made many friends in her years working at various sites across the Service and will be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humour and her helpful and cheerful approach to work.

She had a wealth of knowledge about London Ambulance Service and was extremely proud to work for the organisation.

We were proud to call her a friend and colleague and she will be greatly missed.

She was extremely close to her mother and her aunt and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

Garrett Emmerson, Chief Executive, London Ambulance Service.
