Control room careers

Information on control room careers at London Ambulance Service, covering what it’s like working for us, what qualifications you need and how to apply.

In our control room, we have Emergency Call Handlers answer 999 calls, Emergency Resource Dispatchers sending vehicles across London to treat patients, and 111 Health Advisors who manage 111 calls. Our teams make a difference for our patients with every call they answer.

What's it like working in the 999 control room?

What training do I get? 

We provide extensive training to ensure you have the skills, knowledge and confidence to handle calls. 

Training is modular and you will not progress to the next stage until you have successfully completed written, practical and workplace assessments.
