The service, which was attended by The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and the Chair of the London Assembly, Andrew Boff, commemorated the service and sacrifice of those who lost their lives in the two World Wars and in more recent decades. Standing side by side with leaders of the Metropolitan Police Service and London Fire Brigade, Jason joined London’s emergency services in this shared act of remembrance.

The poignant ceremony featured readings, prayers and hymns, as well as a two-minute silence observed at 11am.

London Ambulance Service Chief Executive Jason Killens KAM said:

“It is a privilege to lay this wreath on behalf of everyone at London Ambulance Service. We are here today to remember and pay our respects to those who have given their lives during wartime.

“Ambulance workers dedicate their lives to helping others, and during times of conflict, many made the ultimate sacrifice. Their dedication and service to the people of London will never be forgotten.”

Jason was among the guests at the Remembrance Service hosted by the Greater London Authority, London Assembly and the London City Hall branch of the Royal British Legion.

London Ambulance Service will continue its commemorations on Armistice Day on Wednesday, when colleagues will gather at the memorial garden at its Waterloo headquarters to mark the 11th hour, of the 11th day of the 11th month.

The service, led by the London Ambulance Service Armed Forces Network, will include a prayer and the Kohima – the traditional remembrance tribute – before those gathered join the national two-minute silence at 11am.
