Time is running out to sign up for the iconic London to Brighton Cycle Ride and raise vital funds for the paramedics and 999 call handlers who are there when people need them most.

Cyclists will join London Ambulance paramedic Sam Redman and her twin sister Lucy, who will take on their first challenge together when they brave the UK’s biggest cycle event on Sunday 13 September.
The money raised will support staff at London Ambulance Service by funding wellbeing initiatives for frontline crews, including wellbeing support vehicles, outdoor gardens and rest areas at ambulance stations.
Sam said:
“We really want to support the London Ambulance Charity as they provided me with counselling, which I really benefitted from during a difficult period in my life.
“I’d strongly encourage others to sign up and be part of something special – helping our Charity to look after our frontline crews who work tirelessly to provide the very best care for Londoners.”
Jess Burgess, Head of London Ambulance Charity, said:
“Our incredible frontline crews and 999 call handlers are there for Londoners every hour of every day, responding to emergencies and providing life-saving care in some of the most challenging circumstances imaginable.
“Many people will remember the ambulance crew or call handler who helped them or a loved one during a crisis.
“Taking on the London to Brighton Cycle Ride is a fantastic way to say thank you and give something back to the people who were there when it mattered most.
“You don’t need to be an experienced cyclist to take part. Whether you’re riding with friends, family or colleagues, you’ll be joining thousands of people taking on an unforgettable challenge while raising money for a brilliant cause.”
The much loved 55-mile challenge will see thousands of cyclists set off from Clapham Common and ride all the way to Brighton seafront.
Once riders leave London behind, they’ll weave through picturesque country lanes via Chipstead, Banstead and Haywards Heath before tackling the famous Ditchling Beacon, a gruelling mile-long climb to the top of the South Downs and one of the most celebrated challenges in British cycling.
