The country’s busiest ambulance service and leading medical event provider Enhanced Care Services (ECS) recently accepted the ‘Production Partnership of the Year’ award at the National Outdoor Events Association Awards 2025 in Bath.

In July, ECS and LAS worked together for the first time to deliver care to crowds who came to enjoy the world’s most famous tennis event: The Championships, Wimbledon. Over the course of The Championships, patient numbers were almost double historical averages, but on site treatment meant only a small number required a hospital transfer.

Judges described our collaboration as ‘not only exceptional’, but ‘an industry first’ which resulted in ‘a gold-standard healthcare model for one of the nation’s most iconic outdoor events’.

London Ambulance Service Chief Executive Jason Killens, said:

“Over the course of The Championships, we provided excellent care to visitors on site with only a small number needing to go to hospital.

“It proves this exciting new agreement can help reduce pressure on the wider NHS while delivering gold-standard care, triage and treatment to those attending this iconic tournament who need medical help.”

More than half a million people attended The Championships in 2025. ECS led the treatment centres and overarching clinical expertise, while LAS led mobile response and command and control elements of the care provision.

The award-winning pairing will continue to deliver medical services at the event for the next two years.

Dr David Connor, Medical Director and Co-founder of ECS, said:

“As one of the emergency physicians in charge at The Championships, I got to see first-hand the excellent care delivered to patients from leveraging our collective experience and expertise. The feedback from patients was outstanding, with many commenting that they appreciated having their care resolved on site so that they could return to watch some of the best tennis played in the world.”

The National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA) awards bring together the UK’s leading event professionals to reflect the strength, creativity and resilience of the outdoor events.

The sell-out ceremony at the Roman Baths and Pump Room in Bath on 26 November rounded off NOEA’s 45th anniversary year.
