Our Tactical Response Unit is a specialist team delivering high-quality patient care in challenging environments such as firearms incidents.
They provide the Joint Response Unit capability, working closely with the Metropolitan Police Service. This includes collaborative response at major planned events like protests, and public disorder incidents.
As well as being equipped to respond to major incidents like marauding terror attacks, they also respond to Category 1 calls, the most serious medical emergencies.
The Tactical Response Unit work closely with other London Ambulance Service teams like the Hazardous Area Response Team
They respond to around 30,000 incidents annually.
