The London Ambulance Service is pleased to announce that Robert McFarland has been appointed as an associate non-executive director.
Robert, who took up his post in May, said: “The organisation provides an excellent emergency service to our capital city and is rightly proud of its record.
“I am very pleased to be able to join the team at an exciting time as we develop and respond to new challenges.”
Throughout his career Robert has had a number of roles in both district hospitals and regional teaching hospitals. In 2007 he was appointed as Clinical Director for Trauma and Emergency Surgery at St George’s Hospital, which opened as one of four major trauma centres serving London and the Home Counties in 2010.
He was a consultant general and vascular surgeon for over 20 years and recently retired from St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust.
Chief Executive Ann Radmore said: “Robert’s extensive experience and knowledge will be of great benefit as we continue to improve and develop our Service”.
