The London Ambulance Service is pleased to announce that Sarah Waller CBE has been reappointed as a non-executive director of the Trust.
Mrs Waller, the Programme Director for the King’s Fund’s Enhancing the Healing Environment Programme, will serve a new two-year appointment on the Trust Board from 1 December until the end of November 2010. She first took up the non-executive post in December 2000.
Mrs Waller has previously held a variety of nursing and human resources director level appointments in the NHS and the civil service, including the post of Director of Standards at the UKCC. She has also been both a local councillor and a health authority member.
She was appointed a CBE for services to nursing and the NHS in the 2008 New Year Honours list.
Mrs Waller’s post carries a remuneration of £6,005 per annum.
The appointment has been made in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments’ (OCPA) code of practice.
All non-executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is requirement for appointees’ political activity (if any declared) to be made public. Mrs Waller holds no other ministerial appointments and has declared no involvement in any other political activity.
