Mayoral opening for new ambulance station

Mayor of Lambeth Cllr Andrew Gibson will declare the new Brixton Ambulance Station officially open on Wednesday (6 February).

The Mayor will be taken on a guided tour of the new ambulance station, on Bessemer Park, which features an open plan mess room with kitchen and seating area, fully-equipped offices and other staff facilities. He will also be given the opportunity to see some of the vehicles that respond to emergency calls in the area.

Brixton Ambulance Station is the base for approximately 20 members of staff, who are all delighted with the new improved building.

Ambulance Operations Manager for Brixton, Tracy Pidgeon, said: “The ambulance station is an excellent environment for us to work in and I would like to thank everyone who has been involved with the project. I would also like to recognise staff at both Brixton and the nearby Oval stations for their patience and professionalism during the acquisition and development of the site.”
