Londoners are being advised to take extra care tomorrow (Thursday 8 January) when heavy snowfall is predicted to hit the capital.
The weather is expected to create hazardous conditions during the rush-hour and London Ambulance Service is urging people to do all they can to look after themselves.
Past experience shows that when cold weather sets in, the Service is put under additional pressure with an increase in falls, heart attacks, respiratory problems, road collisions, and people calling with flu-like symptoms.
Londoners are advised to wrap up warm and take care on icy pavements. Those travelling by car should ensure they drive carefully and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
