The London Ambulance Service will be an exhibitor at
this year’s Diversity Careers Show on Friday (20
November).
The event is run by Square Peg Media, in
association with Stonewall, and is billed as the UK’s biggest
lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) careers fair.
On the day there will be a member of staff
from the Service’s 999 control room available to answer questions
about working for the Service and in particular about the role of
answering 999 calls and dispatching an emergency response to
patients. Staff from the recruitment team and equality and
inclusion department will also be at the event.
Equality and Inclusion Manager Janice Markey
said: “The Service welcomes applicants from all communities and we
want to be a truly inclusive place to work. We are looking for
self-motivated, enthusiastic people from all backgrounds who care
about making a difference. This careers event is an excellent
opportunity for people to find out more about the career
opportunities that are open to them in the ambulance service.”
Up to 5,000 people are expected to attend the
free event which will run from 11.00 am to 5.30 pm at the Grand
Connaught Rooms, on Great Queen Street, London.
