This was following a call he received where a patient who was unable to speak English became unwell in England and rang his partner in the Czech Republic for help. She called their emergency services on 112 who contacted Harley in our control room. Harley located the address of the patient and ensured that an ambulance from East Midlands Ambulance Service attended.

Emergency Medical Dispatcher, Harley Forbes said: "It was a real honour to go to Prague and accept this award on behalf of everyone who works in control services.

"It must have been distressing for the patient to fall unwell in a country where he couldn't speak the language. I'm pleased to have been able to work so well together with 112 to get him some help."
