The London Ambulance Service welcomes
the new Queen’s Ambulance Service Medal to recognise staff for
their distinguished service.
The medal was today approved by Her Majesty the Queen and
launched by the Secretary of State for Health Andrew Lansley. It
will honour staff who have shown exceptional devotion to duty,
outstanding ability, merit and conduct.
Chief Executive Peter Bradley said: “I’m delighted that
ambulance service staff will now have the opportunity to be
officially honoured by the Queen. The police and fire service
already have similar medals for their outstanding work and I’m
pleased that ambulance staff will be recognised the same way.
“Our staff provide excellent patient care to Londoners day in,
day out and can now be honoured for their professionalism and
dedication with the Queen’s Ambulance Service Medal.”
The first medals will be awarded alongside the Queen’s other
Birthday Honours next summer.
