Governors are voted onto the Council by
members through a postal election process. If you would like to put
yourself forward as a candidate for the role of governor you will
need to make sure you are signed up as a member of the Trust.
To become a member you will need
to fill in our online membership form. If you
are unsure of your membership status, please contact the membership
office on freephone 0800 7311 388 or e-mail us at membership@londonambulance.nhs.uk
The nomination process
Once you are a member, you will need
to:
- complete a nomination paper which will be
available once the election process starts – you nominate yourself
with the signatures of two supporting members
- declare any financial interests, membership
of any political party and confirm that you are eligible to stand
for election as a governor, and
- write a personal statement, of not more than
250 words, that outlines your skills and experience, and why you
want to be a governor. This will go to members as part of their
voting papers to help them to decide who to vote for.
When will I find out about the election
process?
Details of the nomination and voting process
will be posted to each member before an election so that they can
nominate themselves as an election candidate and so that they can
vote for candidates within their own constituency.
Members who wish to nominate themselves to
stand for election will be asked to provide some information about
themselves and why they think that members would vote for them to
become a governor. Find out more about how governors are
elected.
