To ensure we provide value for money, we
will:
Use our resources efficiently and
effectively
The majority of our budget is spent on our
staff (78%), with the rest going on supplies, our estate, our
vehicle fleet and capital-related issues.
Not only do we need to make the best use of
these resources, we will need to make savings in these areas
without compromising the quality of care we provide to
patients.

Maintain service performance during major
events
We are involved in a wide range of events,
planned and unplanned, across the capital.
Every year we provide medical support at
large-scale events such as the London Marathon and Notting Hill
festival. And we have had extensive experience dealing with
major incidents, most notably the London bombings in July 2005.
During events like this, we try our best to
continue to deliver our day-to-day service to patients across the
capital.
When the Olympic and Paralympic Games are held
in London in 2012, our challenge will be to ensure we provide a
good service to the Games, whilst maintaining our service to the
public of London.

Improve engagement with key
stakeholders
The public and a wide range of
organisations have an interest in the work that we do.
We value the views of these stakeholders on
how we are doing, and how we can improve our service. We are
looking at how we can work more closely with them so that they can
help us provide better care for patients.
