We aim to provide our patients with a world class ambulance
service.
We have produced a new draft generic Equality
& Inclusion Strategy (PDF, 1.7MB), covering all six
equality strands – age, disability, gender, race, religion and
belief and sexual orientation – which will not only ensure that we
continue to meet our public duties under the current race,
disability and gender legislation, but will also enable us to
proactively prepare for the requirements of the forthcoming Single
Equality Act, expected to be enacted into UK legislation by
Autumn 2010.
The new strategy will better enable us to
identify and more effectively address multiple discrimination and
accompanying health inequalities and to move forward in our
equality and inclusion work in an outcome-focused, non-bureaucratic
and more meaningful way for our patients, customers, staff and
stakeholders.
Please let us know what you think of the
strategy and whether there is anything additional you would like to
see in it. The strategy is a living document and will remain so, as
we work towards its goals jointly with you - our patients,
customers, staff and stakeholders.
As well as this online consultation, we will also be formally
seeking your feedback at other consultation events, including our
upcoming Patient Care Conference on 27 January 2010, at which
we will have a workshop seeking your priorities for action for our
Equality & Inclusion Strategy Action Plan.
Please either download this
form (PDF, 46KB) or fill in the form below and record
any feedback or suggestions you would like to make.
If you would like either document in another format, please contact
