What's happening?
Come along to our community health fair and learn about
important issues such as alcohol awareness, knife crime, smoking,
healthy eating and local healthcare options.
As well as having an opportunity to speak with our staff and
paramedics, there will be stands run by local healthcare
organisations and community groups, including:
- The British Heart Foundation
- Diabetes UK
- Stroke Association
- SmokeFree Islington
- Manor Gardens Welfare Trust
- Islington Hearty Lives scheme
- The Saturday Night Project
- Highbury Fields Park Run, and
- HealthSmart who will be offering free health checks.
Scheduled events
10 am: There will be a short performance by the
Islington Dance Academy at 10am, followed by a zumba taster session
where people can have a go! This is in association with
the
Saturday Night Project. A scheme for kids to get involved in
sports and activities.
12pm:There will be a big CPR demo. We will have
50 manikins and will encourage everyone to take part and learn how
to save a life.
It promises to be a fun and informative event for all the
family.
Refreshments will be provided and there will be ambulances on
display and activities for children.
Learn how to save a life
You will also have a chance to learn how to save a life by
taking part in a CPR demonstration. We have 50 resuscitation
manikins and are hoping to train 100 members of the public at
once.
