We are taking part in some 2012 Games test events.
What is a test event?
Test events will be held in all of the sports
venues in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic
Games to make sure the venues are suitable and so staff can become
familiar with them and plans can be tested.
The first major test event took place at
Greenwich Park last year, where crowds of up to 4,000 watched
equestrian events including dressage, show jumping and cross
country as well as modern pentathlon events.
Why do we have test events?
It’s important that we take part in test
events along with other organisations so that our staff can become
familiar with the venues and the people who they will be working
with during the Games. It is also a good opportunity to put plans
into practice around what to do in the event of a medical
emergency.
How are we involved?
During the main test events, our staff work at
the venues alongside a team of medical volunteers from the London
Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games
(LOCOG).
